VERIKALPA es una banda de folk / pagan / troll metal de Oulu, Finlandia formada en 2015.
En 2016, Verikalpa comenzó a trabajar en su álbum debut «Taistelutahto». Después de algunos conciertos y un arduo trabajo en el local de ensayo, Verikalpa finalmente entró al estudio en diciembre de ese año. En 2017, mientras grababa su primer disco, también hizo algunos shows, uno de ellos fue un concierto de presentación para la legendaria banda irlandesa Primordial en Helsinki. El primer sencillo, «Pahan Laulu», se lanzó en mayo de 2017. La canción tuvo una gran acogida en YouTube y alcanzó las 100.000 visualizaciones bastante rápido. El segundo sencillo, «Tyrmä», fue su primer videoclip y se lanzó en diciembre de 2017.
Su ópera prima, «Taistelutahto», finalmente vio la luz en febrero de 2018 y fue editado por la discográfica finlandesa Inverse Records. El álbum tuvo excelentes críticas en todo el mundo y, después del lanzamiento, la banda realizó una extensa gira de conciertos, incluidos un par de grandes shows en festivales de verano, como en Nummirock y en Qstock.
Mientras tanto, Verikalpa ya estaba escribiendo y ensayando nuevas canciones para el segundo álbum. En enero de 2019 la formación regresó al estudio para entrar a grabar definitivamente.
Verikalpa firmó un contrato discográfico con Scarlet Records para su segundo álbum de estudio «Tuoppitanssi» a finales de 2019 y fue lanzado el 21 de febrero de 2020.
«Tuoppitanssi» es el disco definitivo de Verikalpa, con su sonido característico, melodías retorcidas, riffs duros y mucho groove.
Actualmente Verikalpa está trabajando en su tercer álbum, que se lanzará a finales de 2021.

VERIKALPA are a folk / pagan / troll metal band from Oulu, Finland formed back in 2015.
In 2016 Verikalpa started working with their debut album ‘’Taistelutahto’’. After a few gigs and a hard work at the rehearsal place, Verikalpa fnally hit the studio in December of that year. In 2017, while recording the album, Verikalpa also did a few shows, one of them being a warm up gig for the legendary Irish band Primordial in Helsinki. First single ‘’Pahan Laulu’’ was released in May 2017. The track had a great welcome on youtube hitting 100k views quite fast. The second single ‘’Tyrmä’’ was the band’s frst real music video and was released in December 2017.
The debut album ‘’Taistelutahto’’ fnally saw the daylight in February 2018 and was released by fnnish Inverse Records. The album had great reviews over the globe and after the release band had a bunch of gigs including couple huge summer festival shows at Nummirock and Qstock.
While doing shows, Verikalpa was writing and rehearsing new songs for the second album already. In January 2019 Verikalpa hit the studio again to record the second album.
Verikalpa signed a record deal with Scarlet Records for their second studio album “Tuoppitanssi” in the end of 2019 and it was released on 21st of February, 2020. ”Tuoppitanssi” is a defnitive Verikalpa album with their trademark sound of twisted melodies, tough riffs and a lot of groove.
Currently Verikalpa are working on their third album to be released in late 2021
